Sandnes Garn Peer Gynt

Sandnes Garn’s Peer Gynt could be called Norway’s national yarn.
It has been on the market for over 80 years, and garments made from it are said to still look like new even after decades of use.

The yarn is made from 100% Norwegian wool and has not been superwash-treated, which means it retains the best properties of wool: it repels dirt and insulates heat much better than treated wool. It’s also not as slippery, making it pleasant to knit with, and it doesn’t stretch out with use.

The yarn softens over time, hardly pills, and is at its best in everyday garments such as colorwork sweaters, wool jumpers, hats, and mittens. It is also suitable for felting.
