The Louvre Sweater is a casual wool sweater designed by the super popular Danish brand PetiteKnit for everyday wear. It is knitted seamlessly from top to bottom and has raglan sleeves.

The collar is shaped with shortened layers, giving the sweater a comfortable fit.

The Sandnes Garn Peer Gynt yarn included in the kit is a DK-weight 100% Norwegian wool yarn that hardly pills and only softens with use.

The Louvre Sweater is designed to have approx. 20 cm [7¾ inches] of positive ease, meaning it is designed to be 20 cm [7¾ inches] larger in circumference than your bust measurement. The sizes XS (S) M (L) XL (2XL) 3XL (4XL) are designed to fit a bust circumference of 80-85 (85-90) 90-95 (95-100) 100-110 (110-120) 120-130 (130-140) cm [31½-33½ (33½-35½) 35½-37½ (37½-39½) 39½-43¼ (43¼-47¼) 47¼-51¼ (51¼-55) inches].

The measurements for the finished garment are on the front page of the pattern. Before beginning your project, measure yourself to determine which size to knit. For example, if you measure 92 cm [36¼ inches] around your bust (or around the widest part of your upper body) you should knit a size M. A size M sweater has a bust circumference of 114 cm [45 inches] which in the given example would give you 22 cm [8¾ inches] of positive ease.

Sizes: XS (S) M (L) XL (2XL) 3XL (4XL)

Bust circumference: 106 (110) 114 (120) 128 (136) 146 (154) cm [41¾ (43¼) 45 (47¼) 50½ (53½) 57½ (60¾) inches]

Length: 57 (58) 60 (62) 63 (64) 65 (66) cm [22.50 (22¾) 23½ (24½) 24¾ (25¼) 25½ (26) inches] (measured mid back excl. neck edge)

Sandnes Garn Peer Gynt (50 g = 91 m [100 yds]):

    • XS = 12 balls

    • S = 12-13 balls

    • M = 13-14 balls

    • L = 15 balls

    • XL-2XL = 15-16 balls

    • 3XL = 17 balls

The Louvre Sweater is worked from the top down with raglan increases on the yoke. Short rows are worked after the neck rib edge to shape the neckline. The sweater has long ribbing sections on the neck, hem and sleeves.

Intermediate

The patterns in this category require that you have experience with and feel confident in using the basic knitting techniques, as the patterns contain more advanced techniques for example for casting on, picking up and knitting stitches or working short rows.

You may need to keep track of multiple elements at the same time – for example you may need to work a charted pattern while working shaping at the same time.

It was nice to knit, even though knitting top-down caused some headaches; it’s been 30 years since I last knitted and now it’s time to knit again ☺️ thank you, this sweater will be in use next winter and it’s nice and warm and comfortably loose.
